Hi, my name is Kevin King, and I lived in the 908 College Avenue apartment building. In the middle of the night of March 13th, the building exploded, then burned. My roommate, Corbin McConnell, and I lost all of our possessions.... our clothes, our furniture, everything. I managed to get out with the clothes I sleep in and my toothbrush. Corbin only had his underwear. He sustained first and second-degree burns. He was lying in bed, and the floor fell out from under him. Then the flaming ceiling fell on top of him. He sustained first and second-degree burns.
The building had all of our things in it.. All of our electronics and clothes were lost. Our collections of CDs, board games, Lego, and Magic: The Gathering trading cards, things that both Corbin and I cared for. Both of our cars were totaled.
Corbin will also use the funds to help pay for medical bills associated with burns he received from the fire. And we'll try to replace our stuff that can be replaced, clothes, cars.
We were lucky, we got out. And everyone is ok. It was a very close call.
