As many of you know, our two-year-old cat, Kevin may be euthanized this Monday. We feel extremely sad, and many friends wrote to us to say to create a GoFundMe. Though we feel embarrassed, we thought we would put it out there...
I have been a hospice nurse and understand there are more important problems that folks are dealing with. Kevin thinks he is a dog and his best friend is our 11-year-old Great Pyrenees, Chance. Kevin had emergency surgery for a blocked urethra, but it did not seem to help. We paid VCA $10,000, and we still don't know what is causing the blockage. We have no diagnosis. They told us they will see him again for more money. We took him to our family vet, who suggests that he have a revision, but it all costs so very much money. For example, Tufts does this kind of treatment. So here I am, crying as I write this. Kevin is the sweetest dog, I mean cat, we have ever known. Times are hard, but we thought perhaps we would try rather than give up. He is not a sick cat—he runs all around our home. He howls trying to urinate, but we still don't know why. We know our friends would never, but please don't write anything unkind—we are heartbroken.
Whether or not you donate, we love yah!
God has this, and we appreciate your friendship. We believe in and welcome prayers.
Thank you so, so, so much!
Laurel and Bill
Oh, and Chance
