2020 was rough all round but for Pemberton/Whistler local icon Kevin Damaskie it was the year he was diagnosed with esophageal cancer. It took awhile for the journalist/politician/genius/activist/farmer and garage band musician to realize that being hard to swallow was in fact life threatening cancer. Kev and Les and their 2 boys need our help to fight cancer and keep a roof over their heads. Please donate NOW whatever you can and let's help these locals get back on their feet! We are working together to raise at least 40k.
Post from Meredith G: Here is my beautiful friend Les I've known since we were on the first Ontario Freestyle Ski Team - a 30 year level 4 ski instructor, artist, fashionista and Kev's enabler of any dream or scheme. :D Les is on the other side of her own battle with cancer last year . Yep - this family has shovelled more personal crap in the past 5 years than many of us will face in a lifetime. These two constantly inspire us to stretch and grow, be stewards of the land, and live sustainable lives in this extraordinary Pemberton Valley. Oh yah and have fun, Les and Kev specialize in fun (:
