Hi, my name is Kesha. I’m a mom of six, a caregiver, and a small business owner in Ohio.

I’m creating this GoFundMe because, after a long season of doing everything I can to provide for my family on my own, I’ve hit a point where I can’t climb out of this hole without help.

This isn’t easy to write. I’m usually the one giving help, not asking for it. But right now, I need a community behind me.

‍‍ Who I Am

I’m a mother first. Every business I’ve started, every job I’ve taken, every late night I’ve worked has been about one thing:

leaving my children with stability, options, and a legacy I didn’t grow up with.

I currently:

    •    Work in home care / caregiving, showing up for seniors and clients who depend on me.

    •    Run my own small business doing cleaning and home services.

    •    Am rebuilding from a major loss of income when my largest cleaning contract was taken away after a business dispute. I’m still fighting that through the proper channels, but in the meantime, the income disappeared overnight.

I’m not sitting at home waiting on a miracle. I work. I hustle. I serve. But right now, I’m stuck.

What Happened & Why I Need Help

Because of a series of financial hits, my car was repossessed.

That car is not a luxury for me — it is my lifeline:

    •    I need it to get to my clients.

    •    I need it to keep my jobs.

    •    I need it to transport my child who has medical needs.

    •    I need it to keep food, rent, and bills paid.

Losing that car has created a domino effect:

    •    I’ve had to rely on expensive rideshare just to get to work.

    •    I have a court date coming up that I must appear for.

    •    I’m trying to juggle kids, work, and responsibilities without reliable transportation.

I am doing the best I can, but without help to get my car out of repo, I’m at risk of falling even further behind — and that’s what I’m fighting to avoid.

How the Funds Will Be Used

I want to be very clear and transparent about where your help will go.

Your donations will be used for:

    1.    Car Redemption / Repo Fees – Getting my vehicle out of repossession so I can legally drive it again and not lose it permanently.

    2.    Past-Due Balance & Required Fees – Any mandatory payments, late fees, or reinstatement costs tied directly to the car so I can keep it insured, registered, and on the road.

    3.    Immediate Transportation-Related Costs – Gas, basic maintenance, and a small cushion to make sure I can actually use the car to get back and forth to work consistently.

If there is anything left after those needs are met, it will go toward:

    •    Keeping utilities stable for my kids

    •    Covering court-related costs/fees so those don’t spiral into bigger problems

I will gladly share updates so people can see progress as I go.

My Plan to Stay Stable After This

I know a lot of people are struggling right now, and I don’t take this lightly.

This GoFundMe is not a long-term solution — it’s a reset button so I can stand on my own feet again.

Here is my plan to sustain myself after I get my car back:

    •    Continue working my job in caregiving/home health and pick up more hours once I have reliable transportation.

    •    Keep building my small business, taking on more clients and contracts that I currently have to turn down or struggle to reach.

    •    Stick to a strict budget so this situation doesn’t repeat itself.

    •    Keep pursuing business support and grants for Black women small business owners, so I can grow instead of just survive.

    •    Use my car responsibly as a tool for income, not just convenience — every mile will be about work, kids, and stability.

I’m not asking for help so I can stay stuck.

I’m asking for help so I can move forward.

❤️ Why I Finally Asked for Help

I’ve carried a lot in silence:

    •    Raising six children.

    •    Starting and losing business contracts.

    •    Getting up after every setback.

    •    Taking care of other people’s families while trying to hold my own together.

I reached a point where my strength and pride weren’t enough anymore.

This isn’t about blame or pointing fingers at anyone.

This is about me saying:

“I can’t do this part alone. I need help getting over this hump so I don’t lose everything I’ve worked for.”
