My friend Kerry is one of the most selfless, hardworking, and compassionate people you could ever hope to meet. She’s poured her heart into everything she does — from her job as a dedicated parcel delivery driver to her lifelong commitment to rescuing and fostering dogs in need.

After working incredibly hard to earn a full-time delivery position, Kerry was recently laid off due to declining package volumes amid an uncertain economy. She’s hopeful she’ll be called back when things improve, but in the meantime, the impact has been tough.

Beyond her job, Kerry’s real passion has always been animals. For years, she’s fostered countless dogs from difficult situations, helping them heal and find their forever homes. And sometimes… she just can’t let go. That’s how Shelby and Mason joined her pack, alongside the wise old soul, Jimmy, who had long ruled the roost.

Together, they made the most joyful little family — with a revolving door of foster pups, wagging tails, and Kerry’s big heart keeping it all going. But life threw them some heartbreaking curveballs.

About a year ago, Mason tore his ACL. The surgery to repair it cost around $3,500 — but Kerry didn’t hesitate. Her dog was family. Six months later, heartbreak struck again: Mason tore the ACL in his other leg. Another $3,500, and again, no hesitation. That’s $7,000 in only 6 months— just to make sure her sweet boy could run and play again. And its working. Mason is almost healed up and back to being the happy, speedy goofball he’s always been.

Then came more heartache. Just a month ago, Jimmy — the elder of the pack — passed away. Though they never knew his exact age, they believe he was about 15. His loss left a hole in Kerry’s heart, one she was still grieving when tragedy struck again.

A few days ago, Shelby and Mason suddenly became very sick. It was discovered they had somehow ingested rat poison. No one knows how — they rarely leave their securely fenced yard, and Kerry and Marc are meticulous about what goes in their dogs’ space. It remains a mystery, but one thing was clear: their lives were in danger.

Kerry rushed them to the emergency vet — because of course, it happened over a weekend — and they were kept under round-the-clock observation for 24 hours. Kerry never left their side. Not even for a minute. Until she was certain they would be ok.

Thanks to fast action and expert care, both dogs are recovering well and are on medication to ensure the poison is flushed from their systems. But the emergency vet bill was over $6,000 — and with Kerry currently out of work, the financial strain is overwhelming.

Now, Kerry and Marc are hoping to install a more secure fence to prevent anything like this from ever happening again. The cost of the new fencing is just over $3,000.

We’re reaching out to ask — if you have anything to spare, any amount at all — please consider helping Kerry and her beloved pups. The total cost of care, treatment, and prevention has grown to over $13,000, and we want to help her carry that burden.

If you know Kerry, you already know there’s no one more deserving. And if you don’t — trust me when I say she would be the first to step up if the roles were reversed. This woman has saved countless animals. Right now, she could use some saving herself.

Attached are photos of her beautiful pack and copies of the vet bills. We’ll share updates on the new fence as it goes up — and on Shelby and Mason as they continue to heal.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. I believe we can make this happen for Kerry.

With love and gratitude,
