My dear friend Kerry Trezise has just been diagnosed with stage 4 cancer of the mouth, jaw and throat with life expectancy of 12 months.

Kerry was reluctant to have treatment at first but her specialists have explained that even though the cancer is not spreading at the moment it is getting bigger which means Kerry would not be able to talk, eat or drink.

Kerry has decided to have the operation As she will experience the same symptoms and her life expectancy will be greater.

Kerry’s operation has been classed as high priority, which means she will come to Melbourne from Albury for the operation and be in hospital for at least two weeks. She will then go back to Albury for six weeks in hospital and 6 months of rehabilitation.
