Our family is reaching out to support two people who mean the absolute world to us during an incredibly difficult time.
Many years ago, Kerry battled cancer but was left without a functioning immune system. Since then, he has relied on regular infusions to help his body fight off any illness. With the exception of illnesses coming on stronger and longer and the need for extra caution during cold and flu season, Kerry responded well to the infusions and was able to live a relatively normal life.
At the beginning of March, he became seriously ill and was admitted to the ER. His condition quickly deteriorated, and he has now been in the ICU for about a month. While we are still searching for clear answers, we do know that his lungs have been severely damaged and will require significant time to heal. His doctors anticipate a long road ahead, estimating another 8-12 weeks in the ICU.
Throughout all of this, Patti, has been by his side every single step of the way. Because the hospital is over an hour from their home, she has temporarily relocated to York so she can remain close to him during his recovery.
As a family, we are doing everything we can-visiting, bringing meals, caring for their home, sending encouraging words and ideas to lift spirits, and supporting each other. However, the financial burden of this situation is something we cannot fully ease on our own.
We are asking for support to help cover the unexpected costs of long-term housing, travel, and daily expenses during this time. Looking ahead, funds will also help prepare their home for first-floor living so that when he is able to return home, he can do so safely and comfortably.
If you know Patti and Kerry, you know they would never ask for help themselves. But right now, they are facing challenges from every direction, and we want to do everything possible to support them.
We understand that everyone is navigating their own circumstances, and any contribution, no matter the size, means more than we can express. Even sharing this page helps tremendously.
Thank you for taking the time to read their story and for any support you are able to give. Your kindness, generosity, and prayers mean the world to all of us!
