Help Kerry and Pete Genova Rebuild After Hurricane Helene

My name is Kerry Genova, and my husband and mother live in Port Richey FL. It's very humbling having to do this again and you have no idea how much I dislike having to reach out again because so many people were generous and helpful last year, but we need whatever help we can get, and I'm not sure where else to turn. Every bit of our savings and extra money was wiped out from going through this last year. We have applied with FEMA, and I've been reaching out to any available resources I can, but with so many in need right now, the resources are slow if at all available. We are the kind of people who help others whenever possible, donate to local charities and people, and other GoFundMe campaigns. Now we are asking for help. Everything is greatly appreciated as we try to rebuild our homes and lives.

Our house took on at least four feet of water from Hurricane Helene. We lost everything we own...clothes, furniture, appliances, etc. Sadly, we hadn't even finished rebuilding our home from Hurricane Idalia in August of 2023. We never in a million years imagined it would happen again one year later. We haven't recovered from the financial hardship of Idalia last year, and now we once again have to replace everything our insurance doesn't cover, pay upfront for water/mold remediation, electrical inspections required by the county before we can turn our power back on, and temporary housing because our house is in no way livable. And I'm sure there are other things I am forgetting at the moment because it's all so overwhelming.

Thank you for taking the time to read this. We send out good thoughts and love to everyone affected by this devastating hurricane. And trust me, we will be moving to higher ground and eventually out of FL when we can. It's too much going through this every hurricane season. We are mentally, physically, and financially drained.
