Hi, my name is Kerri-ann Fraser, but many in my community know me simply as Kerr Bear. I’m a proud single mother to two amazing boys who are my entire world. I’ve spent my life as a nurse—caring for others since I was 18 years old. Now, for the first time, I find myself in the deeply humbling position of needing care and support myself.
In April 2025, I was diagnosed with Invasive Ductal Carcinoma—a form of breast cancer. After many conversations with my doctors, I made the difficult decision to undergo a double mastectomy, starting with my first surgery in June. While the surgery was a success, the recovery has been physically and emotionally taxing.
I am now undergoing chemotherapy, which has left me unable to work. As the sole provider for my boys, this has created a heavy burden—financially and emotionally. The rising cost of living, bills, groceries, rent, and other everyday needs have become overwhelming. I'm not only fighting cancer—I'm fighting to keep our home stable and provide for my children.
It’s never been easy for me to ask for help. As a nurse and a “community mom,” I’ve always been the one offering a hand, a prayer, or a hot meal. But today, I’m reaching out with open hands and a hopeful heart.
I’m humbly asking for your support to help raise $25,000 to:
Cover household bills and living expenses
Provide food and shelter for my sons
Offset medical and recovery-related costs
Allow me to focus on healing, not just surviving
Your kindness, prayers, and any contributions—no matter the size—mean the world to me. With your help, I can focus on healing and being present for my boys, who need their mom more than ever right now.
Thank you for standing with me in this fight.
With love,
Kerri-ann Fraser-Aitkens
