Help Kerri Fight Stage 4 Colorectal Cancer

Hi, my name is Amber McKay, and I am a blessed to be the cousin to Kerri Ann. It is with a heavy heart that our family writes this request to help with her financial need.

On January 3, 2021, Kerri was diagnosed with Stage 4 Colorectal cancer that had already metastasized to her liver and lymph nodes. She has been a strong warrior and had completed two rounds of chemo and then in July she received good news that the tumors had shrunk. Things were looking positive. At the end of July, Kerri was able to marry her best friend Steve.

Fast forward a month and a half, Kerri Ann started having severe abdominal pain, and September 12th she went to the ER. The heart breaking news was that her cancer had spread to her lower pelvic and again a larger mass on her liver. The tumors are to large to remove at this time. Last week Kerri had to go into the hospital for severe dehydration and severe hypotension . She spent four days in the hospital including the intensive care unit. Palliative care has come in to now to help control her pain and Steve has her home trying to get her strong again so she can start treatment. Each day is a struggle, she has hard times eating and drinking without feeling nauseated, and suffers with severe pain. This week she is going through additional scans and Next week she starts a clinical trial!

With her husband Steve’s help and being by her side daily, he has been unable to work and provide for them at this time. Kerri and Steve are very humble and the most loving people. Kerri’s infectious smile and laughter brighten a room.

Today we are reaching out to family and friends asking for help for some Kerri’s living expenses, medical cost and transportation to and from treatment. This will allow Steve to continue to be Kerri’s caregiver and be by her side. Kerri and Steve’s family are in Wisconsin and Michigan, far from Seattle to where we are not able to help in person.
