Help Kermit Recover from Devastating Accident
Donation protected
On Friday evening, August 15, 2025, Kermit Todd Crew was involved in a life-threatening head-on collision just blocks from his home in Fort Lauderdale. He was driving back from his routine grocery trip when a reckless driver—operating an unregistered, uninsured vehicle that didn’t belong to them—swerved into his lane at high speed. That driver was tragically pronounced dead at the scene.
Thanks to the safety features of the Subaru Outback Kermit had proudly purchased earlier this year, his life was spared. But he didn’t escape without serious injury.
Kermit was rushed to the Trauma Center at Broward General Hospital and spent three days under medical care, including time in the ICU. He suffered multiple compression fractures to his lower spine (L4 and L5), lacerations to his left hand, and extensive bruising across his body. While his survival was a blessing, his recovery will be long and difficult—his doctors estimate 8 to 10 weeks of healing, with continued treatment likely for long-term spinal issues.
All of this comes at an incredibly challenging time: Kermit is also in the middle of a household move and helping his daughter transition into middle school. On top of that, he now faces massive medical bills, vehicle replacement costs, and the uncertainty that comes with extended recovery.
While insurance will cover a small portion of his medical expenses, the majority falls on Kermit. We are asking for your help to ease that burden. Your donation—no matter the amount—will go directly toward medical bills, physical therapy, transportation, and supporting his family during this difficult time.
Kermit has always shown up for the people in his life. Now it’s our turn to show up for him.
Thank you for your support, love, and generosity.
