Help Keri Schmelmer Overcome Brain Tumor Surgery
Donation protected
I started this fundraiser for a dear friend of mine, Keri Schmelmer.
Keri needs an Endoscopic transnasal transsphenoidal surgery. This surgery is at least a 3 day inpatient stay. She’ll then be off of work for a minimum of 4-6 weeks.
Keri is a single mom of a freshman in high school and a freshman in college who is in between health insurance coverage.
On 9/3/24 Keri’s family doctor advised her to go to the ER. For weeks Keri has been struggling with debilitating headaches, eye pains with vision disturbances and dizziness.
The ER said they found a large tumor on her pituitary gland and they were transferring her to Riverside hospital. The endocrinologist and the neurosurgeon at Riverside said Keri needs surgery to remove the large tumor that’s on her brain. Due to the size it’s pushing on her optical nerve which is causing the headaches, eye pain and vision concerns.
A Pituitary macro adenoma is a tumor that can grow in the pituitary gland. Most pituitary adenomas are benign (non-cancerous) and grow slowly. They can be classified by their size, whether they produce hormones, and whether they are cancerous.
Any support is appreciated especially prayers!
Thank you for ALL of your prayers, love and outstanding support!
