Keep kiwi comfortable for her final months

Hi, I’m Dani, and I’m helping my friend Kenzie! On Friday night while out of town, Kenzie’s precious pup Kiwi went into kidney failure. We are raising funds to help with her bill from the pet hospital, her regular vet bill, her future appointments, special food, supplements, medication, and the at home vet for when it’s time for her to go with dignity in her home. This will help bring Kiwi home to have a comfortable few weeks or months to spend with her family and enjoy her remaining days. In true Kiwi fashion, she was acting totally fine - Kenzie and Allison had a gut feeling and made an appointment for just a standard check up and asked their dear friend Amanda if she could take her in the next morning. Her vet called the next day and her lab results showed extremely elevated kidney levels and told them she needed emergent care and a kidney ultrasound. Unfortunately, it’s a chronic issue even though her last check up not long before showed her to be in perfect health. Kenzie and Allison were informed today that she has a few more months at best. She is eating and happy and clearly not ready to go yet. Anything will help keep kiwi here as long as possible.

Kiwi has been a part of Kenzie’s life since before the birth of both her children. She is a beloved part of the family, Allison, Kenzie, and their two children are absolutely devastated.

Update: her emergency vet is letting Kiwi come home today, Sunday June 11. The plan from here is palliative care to try and keep her around and comfy for as long as possible. She will need weekly fluid injections, special medicine, frequent labs. We are looking at 6.5k on the lowest end for the next few months, so we extended our goal. But truly any dollar helps, we are so incredibly grateful for every donation. This expense was really unexpected and Kenzie and Allison struggle to ask for help, but could really use some assistance. We can’t save Kiwi but we can help ease the financial situation so Kenzie and Allison can just focus on spending time and taking care of their little old lady.
