This GoFundMe is for Kenny Turner. Kenny was a Deputy Sheriff for 22 years and a Logger for 36 years, but all that came to a crashing halt 5 years ago with the diagnosis of end stage renal disease. For the last 4 years he has been on dialysis. He has been through countless surgeries, 3 just this year, and 2 of those within the last 30 days. In October he got a Staph infection in his dialysis port and had to have a major surgery to remove all the infection, leaving 2 very large incisions and an open wound that is still healing. On November 13th he got the wonderful call at 11:45pm that he had to be at the hospital in St. Louis at 4:00 am to receive transplant surgery.
As a result, he has obtained and continues to receive many medical bills, travel expenses to numerous doctor appointments, and the expense of many anti-rejections medications that he will be required to take the rest of his life. His wife Sarah is still able to work but has to take off work all the time to care for Kenny. He has been unable to work for the last 3 1/2 years, and with higher co-pays and many new medications, they are struggling financially. It will be a minimum of 6 to 12 months before he is able to return to work. So, any and all donations would be much appreciated. Thank you for your help in their time of need. May God bless you.
My name is Sarah Turner, Kenny's wife. This journey has been a very long and difficult walk in our lives. Five years doesn't seem like much in the whole scheme of things, but when you watch your loved one suffer every single day, it's a lifetime! I have watched my very strong, burly, proud husband deteriorate more every single day. We have been brought to our knees many times begging God to heal Kenny. The struggle both mentally, physically, and financially has a been a real issue for me. Every month juggling how to pay the bills, get Kenny's medicine, and be able to buy groceries is something I worry about all the time.
