Help Kenny on His Journey to a Kidney Transplant

Donation protected
Hello everyone. My son’s father, Kenny, who is 38 years old, was diagnosed with lupus back in 2017. Life changed for him back then, and unfortunately, in 2021, he was diagnosed with kidney disease due to the lupus attacking the kidneys . He has been on many medications since then and with regular doctor visits, we had hoped that the disease would be manageable. Unfortunately, over time, this illness took over. In 2023, after having many visits in and out of the hospital, his health began taking a turn for the worse. Shortly after, rather quickly in late March of 2024, all of a sudden, he started to become very sick, and by April 2024, his health declined in such a major way. He was diagnosed with stage 5 kidney disease, which is the end stage kidney failure. We were told that 85-95% of both of his kidneys were fried and that the toxin levels in his blood were so high, doctors didn’t know how he was still functioning. He was told that he was going to need a kidney transplant, and without a live donor, the wait time on the transplant list is 3-5 years. Suddenly, we were told that he immediately needed to begin dialysis. Because of this, his life is changing so much, and he has to stop working and focus on his health. This is taking a major
toll on him physically, mentally, and
emotionally. His life has to change in so many ways. From living a normal life, to having to now go to a dialysis center 3 days a week for dialysis. This new adjustment is very heavy on him and our family - mentally, emotionally, physically, and financially. With all of the hospital bills adding up, and the responsibilities he has as an adult and father, and with beginning dialysis, and not able to work. Being the father of 3 children and the father figure of another, he is fighting with all the power in him. Any small donation can help him on his journey to receiving a transplant. Anything will help while he goes through this transition and until he is able to get back up on his feet. My family and his family appreciates anything and everything, including prayer. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this, and for considering us. We love you, Kenny.
