Hello Everyone,

My name is Kayla, and I am starting this page to help my parents out in this time of need. On October 24, 2024, my father, Kenny, was helping his brother out, cutting down a few trees around his house before the winter months. While my dad is an experienced tree climber with over 30 years of experience, in the process of cutting down a tree limb, my dad fell 11 feet out of the tree onto his back, causing him to have two compression fractures of the lumbar 1 and 3. He spent six days in the hospital and was finally able to come home on October 29. He has a long road of recovery ahead of him, including weekly physical therapy, and doctors' visits and a minimum of 6-8 weeks out of work. He is the key provider for my mom and himself, with my mother ineligible to work due to her own health issues.

With how long short-term disability and insurance claims take, my siblings and I want to make this road to recovery as smooth as possible for him. Every little bit helps.
