Hello Everyone,
My name is Kenneth Williams and I’m a self-employed painter living in Norristown, Pennsylvania. I was born and raised in Trelawny, Jamaica, and though I moved to the U.S. in 1990, my heart has never left home. I’m a proud father and grandfather, and I travel back to Jamaica often to visit my family—especially my mom, who returned home after living in the U.S. for many years.
As you probably know, Hurricane Melissa hit Jamaica really hard. Homes have been destroyed, communities flooded, and families are struggling to find food, water, and shelter. Even for those who have a little money, supplies are scarce and hard to find.
If it weren’t for a painting job I had to finish here in the U.S., I would have been in Jamaica when the hurricane hit. Since then, I’ve received calls and texts from family, friends, and neighbors back home—people who are scared, hungry, and unsure of what’s next.
.Many of my customers, friends, and family here in the U.S. have been reaching out, asking how they can help. I know what it’s like to want to help but not know how. That's why I decided to start this GoFundMe—to give people a way to directly support those in need in Jamaica during this very difficult time.
Every cent raised will go toward food, clean water, clothing, building materials, and other essential supplies for families in Trelawny and surrounding areas who have lost so much.
I really appreciate any support, no matter how small. Together we can help the people back home get back on their feet.
Thank you and I appreciate everything
Kenneth Williams
