On Saturday, 5 September 2026, 18-year-old Kennett’s life changed in a matter of seconds.
A devastating accident left Kennett with a serious spinal cord injury. He is now in hospital receiving intensive medical care, facing a long and uncertain road ahead.
At just 18 years old, Kennett has his whole life ahead of him. Like any young person, he had dreams, plans and a future he was looking forward to. In an instant, everything changed.
Now, instead of thinking about school, work, friends and the future, Kennett and his family are facing hospital stays, medical treatment, rehabilitation and the possibility of significant changes to the way he will live his life.
❤️ Standing beside Kennett and his mum
Kennett’s mum, Cielo, is a single mum standing by her son’s side through this heartbreaking time. She is also unable to work due to her own circumstances, and this is expected to be permanent. Every little bit of support means so much to them both. ❤️.
As a single mother, Cielo is carrying an enormous emotional and practical burden while supporting her son through his treatment and recovery.
The road ahead may involve extensive rehabilitation, specialized treatment, medical equipment, transportation, accommodation and other essential needs connected to Kennett’s recovery.
This is where we are asking our community to come together for Kennett and Cielo.
This fundraiser has been organized by family and friends to help provide practical financial assistance with expenses directly related to Kennett’s accident, medical treatment, rehabilitation and recovery.
Every donation, no matter how small, can help ease some of the financial pressure created by this unexpected tragedy and allow Kennett and his mum to focus on what matters most: his recovery, rehabilitation and wellbeing.
Every contribution matters
If you can donate, no matter the amount, please know that your contribution can make a real difference to Kennett and his family during this incredibly difficult time.
If you are unable to donate, sharing this fundraiser is just as valuable. One share could reach someone who is able to help.
Right now, Kennett needs a community behind him.
We want to surround Kennett and Cielo with the love, strength and support they need to face the days ahead.
Please help us give Kennett the best possible chance to focus on his recovery and rehabilitation.
Thank you for every donation, every share, every message and every prayer.
Please keep Kennett in your thoughts and prayers as he begins this long and challenging journey. ❤️
Together, we can remind Kennett and Cielo that they are not facing this alone
