Help Kennedy and Sammy save their beloved Beauregard's life

Hi all! My name is Mackenzie and I am raising money on behalf of my best friends, Kennedy and Sammy to help with emergency vet costs for their cat Beauregard.
If you know Kennedy and Sammy, you know that their whole world revolves around their two cats Beauregard (Beau) and Twinkie Junior (TJ). A week and a half ago, Beau started not eating and after taking her into the vet (1/19), they were concerned about her liver numbers, and had an ultrasound on 1/22 to confirm her bowels were incredibly inflamed. The following morning (1/23), the vet called with the results of her blood test to confirm that Beau has diabetes. This was the first huge shock; Beau is only 4 years old, which makes this diagnosis incredibly unexpected. Kennedy and Sammy were feeling hopeful, despite the impending costs of such a diagnosis. However, she continued to rapidly decline through the next 12 hours, resulting in Beau being admitted into an intensive care unit at the emergency vet hospital on Thursday night (1/23). At the hospital, they confirmed diabetes and IBS, and diagnosed her with pancreatitis, a liver disease, and diabetic ketoacidosis (diabetic emergency). The vet staff have been incredible in managing all Beau's different care needs: insulin, feeding tubes, lots of testing and imaging, etc. All of her different medical needs have been a kind of chicken and egg situation. They are unsure which came first, but that the new diabetes was definitely making things worse. Kennedy went to visit Beau on Friday morning, who had been acting understandably a bit feisty with vet techs while receiving treatments, but when Kennedy walked in, Beau started PURRING! Baby girl was so happy to have one of her people there. She has continued to feel better, the vet staff commenting on Beau being so sweet and so in want of cuddles that treatments were taking extra time. I am happy to report that as of Monday 1/27 Beau has been transferred out of intensive care, all of her numbers are coming down as the vet would like to see, has been eating on her own, and may even be able to come home in the next day! Beau is anticipated to come home with a feeding tube for the next few weeks (requiring 24/7 supervision), but if she continues to eat and go to the bathroom by herself, she may be able to come home without it!!! She will require long-term diabetes care, but otherwise, she is expected to live a long, happy life.
As you can imagine, this is quite a large, unexpected cost. Kennedy and Sammy are two of the most incredible humans in the world. They are such great cat parents and have upheld their promise to Beau to take care of her, no matter what. I am calling on their community to rally around them during this incredibly stressful time. I would love more than anything to be able to show them how loved their little family is! The emergency/intensive care bills have come out to about $14,500. Unfortunately, their pet insurance does not cover this. Anything you give will go directly to helping cover this bill, the tests/visits that led up to the emergency room visit, and any bills that arise now that she's been transferred to their regular vet. Anything beyond will go to help cover starting costs of Beau's insulin, glucose monitor, and other costs that come with a new diabetes diagnosis.
Kennedy and Sammy adopted Beau and TJ in 2020 and their whole world changed! Beau and TJ are littermates and Beau is TJ's emotional support cat. TJ has been so anxious, constantly looking for Beau this last week. Beauregard is named after one of Kennedy and Sammy's favorite Critical Role characters: a badass monk who pop pops her way out of any situation! Beau has completely lived up to her namesake while fighting back from her hospital stay and will continue being a diabetic warrior!
These cats are loved beyond measure and have truly become their kids. Kennedy and Sammy take their roles as pet parents incredibly seriously and they have been willing to do whatever they can to help their baby girl get better! I know that they are incredibly appreciative of any amount given and do not take it lightly. I will continue to update with Beau's progress!
