My parents have always worked hard to provide for our family, coming from Mexico and dedicating themselves to the agricultural industry. Unfortunately, their work is temporary, and right now they have no jobs. This has made things incredibly difficult—they are behind on rent and we’ve received an eviction notice. On top of that, our only car needs repairs that we can’t afford, and it’s getting harder to put food on the table for our family.

My mom is 41 and my stepfather is 39. They have three little ones—my siblings, ages 14, 11, and 8. My parents have been applying for jobs everywhere and reaching out to programs for help, but it’s been a struggle. We’re doing everything we can to stay hopeful and positive, but the fear of losing our home and car is overwhelming. We just want to keep our apartment, make sure my siblings have enough to eat, and get our car running so my parents can keep searching for work.
