Meet Kendrixx! Affectionately known as (KC or Charlie). Born at 33.4 weeks on (11-09-2019), he is now 12 months old. Kendrixx came into this world ready to take it on. He is the most delightful and zealous child. He lights up a room with his smile. What he has been able to accomplish so far on his own, it is just awesome! But he needs a little help.
Kendrixx was born with Bilateral Tibial Hemimelia. This means that both his right and left shinbones are missing. Tibial Hemimelia is a rare condition that happens in one of one million live births. That’s about 4 new cases in the United States every year. See, I told you he was amazing and super special ;-) Hoping to help Kendrixx be able to develop as normal as possible, his parents went to several Pediatric Orthopedic Specialists. Very disappointed, they were met with the same news time and time again, amputation as the only option. Not giving up, they continued to research on their own and from another family in the same circumstance, were directed to the Paley Institute in West Palm, Florida. Hopeful, they flew to see Dr. Paley and his team, during the COVID-19 pandemic no less. Nothing can stop the good ahead for Kendrixx! Dr. Paley gave great news that he and his team were properly trained and equipped to reconstruct Kendrixx’s legs. The miracles with this kid continue and the parents are overjoyed to help their son lead the most normal life, as he deserves.
Although everything is set for surgery, scheduled for 03-11-2021, the hurdles aren’t over yet. With reconstruction surgery, insurance will cover the physical therapy portion; however Kendrixx’s parents will need $20,000 for down payment on the surgery and other expenses such as family housing during the 4+ month stay for surgery and therapy. Kendrixx’s family is asking for your help, with a financial donation of any amount, to go towards the surgery down payment. Let’s help him walk, run, jump into his future!
Thank you for considering Kendrixx! Seriously, we can’t thank you enough for any financial support and prayers you can provide. Please follow his journey on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/groups/421226819284932
