Hi, I'm Kendrick, and I am fundraising to support my continued theological education.
Due to a recent issue with my federal student loan disbursement concerning my disability status, I am looking to fundraise sufficient funds to cover my seminary tuition fees for the Spring term while the issue gets resolved. I am entering the research phase of my DMin project and I am excited to critically engage the issues of ableism in the Church. These tuition funds will allow me to pursue this vital and underserved work in my community.
For years, I have worked with a writing partner who has been instrumental in helping me with my apraxia disability. His continued support is essential to my ability to complete my degree and develop my theological project, but the current economic conditions have made it a challenge to offer him sufficient compensation. The remainder of my financial goal from this fundraiser will go towards offering him a necessary stipend for health insurance as we finish this program at Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary.
After graduation, I will be working on several published works including my history with the topic of "Church Hurt," and the intersection of masculinity and disability. With your continued support, I hope to submit a proposal to publishers cataloging the growing field of Black Liberation Theology of Disability.
Blessings,
Kendrick
