Help Kendra Finish Senior Year

Hi everyone, My name is Kendra Medard. I am a rising senior at the University of Rochester. I have created this fundraiser to help pay off the bill on my student account. During the pandemic, I struggled to stay afloat and pay my student tuition bill which in turn has placed a hold of $5,000 on my student account. This is a result of tuition as well as late fees placed by the university. This hold also means that I will not be able to register for classes in the fall nor will I be given any financial aid to commence the start of my senior year until the entire $5,000 is paid to the university. I am fundraising because initially, I thought I would be able to cover this bill from working over the summer, however, it has been brought to my attention that this would not be feasible with any campus jobs. While I am still willing to work to resolve my financial issues, I have created this GoFundMe to receive any help or support from my community. These funds will strictly be used to clear the financial hold on my student account so that I can continue to register for classes and then eventually receive financial aid. Over the last year and a half, I have been able to increase my grade point averages. Seeing my progress over the past year has made me hopeful for my future and my ability to make an impact on the world. As a first-generation student, it’s very important for me to continue on this successful path of being a dedicated student. While my college journey has not been ideal, it has only strengthened my desire to complete my undergraduate career and graduate in the spring of 2023.
