Help With Funeral, Housing, etc. (Emergency)

Donation protected

Hi my name is Keene Walker,

I, as well as a Team of Educators and community Leaders, are seeking crowd funding for the most respectful, generous, considerate, and empathetic student I have ever had the pleasure of serving as an educator. He was senselessly shot six times and nearly killed here in Atlanta, GA only a minute away from his home!

Nonetheless, the situation has changed as of Monday. As he was making exceptional progress following multiple surgeries, something made a turn for the worse and he recently transitioned to the land where no man returns. We are pleading with the community, as well as those who love the Lord, Family, and Community, to assist this young man who gave his life in the service of others!

The needs have changed since my original story was drafted because we have the situation has shifted from immediate, intermediate and long term health care and recovery to transitioning from this life and leaving a ton of responsibility on a mother who is recovering from a stroke and now has to navigate burying her only child and sustaining a decent living (Surviving) in the aftermath. The needs have been exponentially magnified because the family will be missing the income and sweat equity that Kenderrick contributed as the primary bread winner due to his mom's failing health. We are in need of assistance with housing, burial arrangements, groceries, and other essential needs that have to be accounted for since he is no longer available to assist with the day to day needs of his nuclear family (Household).

The costs are constantly changing, but we are seeking to generate the target amount of $5,000-$10,000 just to ensure Funeral Arrangements, Essential Needs,  and Housing are taken care of in order for the mother to get back on her feet and deal with life after this traumatic experience.

We are open to help beyond the crowd sourcing because we know many may not be able to contribute financially, but they may be able to contribute their skill set, time and other resources.

We need to get this funding started immediately as time is most definitely of the essence!

Kenderrick was a SENIOR at Clayton State who was on the eve of his college graduation. He was working 16 hour shifts at the Mercedes Benz Stadium in order to support his mom who was battling severe health issues (Stroke) while still maintaining a Full Load at School. Moreover, he was very active in the community, and he volunteered with the youth regularly. Until the day he died, he was still coming to visit the school he attended and serving the students and staff in any capacity.

Furthermore, everyone under God's canopy has nothing but great things to say about him, his level of respect, and his willingness to be of service to anyone in need. That list includes but is not limited to: Brothers Building up Brothers, South Atlanta High School Band, South Atlanta and Crawford Long Students, Books for Africa, his Spiritual Community and Phi Beta Sigma.

I am reaching out today to solicit any support that you may be willing to offer to the family of a young man who was a few months away from changing the trajectory of his family's future. We owe this to them for his sacrifice and lifetime commitment to service, even until his last breath on this side of eternity!

Warmest Regards,

Keene M. Walker
