Support Kendall’s Heart Surgery Recovery

If you’ve ever met Kendall, you know her heart isn’t just an organ — it’s who she is. The woman who lights up a room, remembers your stories, and makes you feel beautiful inside and out — that’s Kendall. Her friends describe her as having “the biggest, brightest heart.” And now, that very heart needs healing.

Recently, her heart nearly gave out. On Monday, August 18th, Kendall’s life changed in an instant. What began as a medical emergency quickly turned into open-heart surgery just days later on Friday, August 22nd — her second heart-related surgery, following an earlier repair in 2017.

While the doctors mended her physical heart, Kendall now faces the difficult road of recovery: at least six weeks of healing, no work, lost income, and the reality of still having to pay the bills. Being a self-employed hairstylist means there’s no paid time off. And while her spirit is strong, the sudden loss of income makes this time especially hard.

Born and raised in San Diego, Kendall’s life is rooted in love, sunshine, and faith. Her deep trust in her God, Jehovah, and her joy for hiking mountains, soaking in hot springs, and roaming through nature reflect where she feels most at home. Always by her side is Mastin, her "main squeeze" and loyal Queensland Heeler. And now, Ridge, her high-energy rescue pup who keeps her on her toes. They are her family, her pack, her reason to get outside and heal.

However, right now, Kendall needs her human community to be her pack.

Your gift will allow her to focus fully on recovery — without the stress of bills piling up. It will cover living expenses, medical costs insurance doesn’t touch, and give her the freedom to rest her heart so it can fully mend.

If you ask her clients, they’ll tell you Kendall gives more than curly haircuts — she gives encouragement, laughter, and the kind of warmth that stays with you long after you leave her chair. She has always shown up for others, giving generously of her time, her talent, and her love.

Today, we have the chance to show up for her.
