Hi everyone, my name is Ken.
I’m reaching out today to ask for your support as I navigate a major turning point in my health and mobility. As many of you know, I’ve spent my life adapting to challenges—I’m an amputee and I manage legal blindness. My focus has always been on being the best provider and dad I can be for my wife, Gabby, and our two young children, Theo (7) and Sadie (4).
I am now at a place where I need to ask for a "hand up" to stay on my feet.
My current prosthetic is poorly fitting and has become increasingly painful, limiting my ability to keep up with my kids and stay active. More importantly, I am facing a necessary surgery on my residual limb to address complications and prepare me for a new, properly fitted prosthetic. While we don't have a final date on the calendar yet, we are currently in the "pre-op" phase, and the costs are already mounting.
Why I need your help:
Even with insurance, the out-of-pocket costs for specialized limb revision surgery and a high-functioning prosthetic are significant. Between deductibles, specialized components not covered by basic plans, and the time I will need to be off my feet for recovery, we are facing a gap we simply cannot bridge on our own.
How your donation helps:
Surgery & Co-pays: Covers the out-of-pocket medical costs for my upcoming limb revision.
Prosthetic Upgrades: Helps fund the specialized components needed for a pain-free, active fit that insurance often labels as "not medically necessary."
Recovery & Mobility: Ensures our family stays stable while I am in post-op recovery and physical therapy.
My goal is to walk without pain again and be the active dad my kids deserve. Every donation, no matter the size, brings me one step closer to a successful surgery and a new lease on life. If you aren't able to donate, simply sharing this link would mean the world to us.
Thank you for your kindness and for helping me get back on my feet.
With gratitude,
Ken, Gabby, Theo, and Sadie
