Hello family, friends, church families and all loved ones.
As sisters, we have an important message to share with you.
We have come together with a resounding call to help our dear father with his severe health battle. Over the years, as a family, we’ve kept this very private since the struggle has been so painful...with little medical hope in sight. Through it all, we kept our eyes on Jesus, believing for the day his miracle would happen.
Here's some history:
In 1994, our dad was in a horrific car accident, which nearly took his life. He fractured his neck in two places and it was also dislocated. Dad was expected to be paralyzed from his neck down. But God, miraculously intervened and after one year, he was able to return to normal life.
Fast forward to 2010. While serving as District Superintendent with the PAOC, he became very ill with a severe staph infection. The staph filled his body and turned to osteomyelitis, a bone infection, which settled in the former fractured neck area. While in long term recovery, dad had to also face a lung embolism, caused by blood clots in his PICC line. The osteomyelitis has caused destruction of his cerebral bones leading to severe and chronic nerve damage, progressively worsening over the past 12+ years. Despite the unbelievable daily pain, our brave father continued to serve in ministry for an additional 7 years. Throughout these 7 years, dad kept his suffering mostly silent, despite 8 out of 10 pain, on a daily basis.
During this entire time, our family kept praying and believing for answers and treatments. Dad underwent three RF nerve ablations, saw different specialists, hoping to find answers, including surgical solutions. All roads seemed to lead to dead ends. Doctors would tell us there was nothing more they could do.
In these last five years, as the severe pain progressed, our father lost his ability to continue working or to participate in regular activities of life. Due to the pain, dad may average 3-4 hours of sleep each night, these hours broken up 2-3 times per night. Most of his waking hours are in bed, unable to find any position any better to relieve him of his pain.
With no apparent surgeon in Canada, able to help him, he has sought help from other countries. We have all been desperately praying to see our dad get the medical miracle we have longed for.
The Lord has answered our cry!
A Neurosurgeon in Denver, Colorado, (same surgeon that preformed Artificial Disc Replacement for NHLer, Jack Eichel) has agreed to operate on our dad! In the United States, with new technological advancements not readily available in Canada, this surgeon agreed to take our dad on as a patient. He foresees an 80-85% success rate for our father. This is very exciting for Dad, Mom, and our family. This has given us renewed hope.
Our dad is scheduled for ADR surgery on August 2, 2022. There will be a large financial burden for this operation and that's where you come in. ; )
As this procedure happens outside of Canada, where Dad has no medical coverage, the enormous costs involved will be: $65,000 CAD. This is not including flights or accommodations. Angeline will be with Dad and assist him in recovery and travel.
As his daughters, we don’t want our parents to have to do this alone. We believe many of those that love and care for Dad, will want to partner with the large financial commitment and in doing so, hold our father’s arms up, at this time of his need.
Our Dad has loved and served the Lord so well for almost 40 years. The love for his family, the community, and the PAOC, has been exemplary. Now is our opportunity to be part of his medical miracle, by giving and sowing into his life, our family, and the future ministry.
This procedure will help Dad to get his life back and do the simple things we all take for granted.
Please prayerfully consider sowing into this gift of healing. Please share this with friends, family and all who would also want to be part of the miracle. Many thanks!
