Help Ken Secure His Family's Future
Donation protected
Ken was recently diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. The news is not good. Doctors are estimating 6 months from diagnosis, with the possibly of a little more time with treatment. I know Ken is not done living yet, largely in part of wanting to be around for his family. We are trying to keep spirits high, but the biggest struggle mentally for Ken is making sure his family is set and comfortable for the future. From vehicle issues to house repairs, the fix-it list is daunting while also feeling the effects of chemo.
Ken is the family handy man, so when little issues pop up, he’s been able to patch things up and MacGyver solutions to get them through. This has helped save them tens of thousands of dollars in costs for mechanics and repairmen. He is aware his diagnosis will take him from the cost saving role he is used to filling, and that understanding is weighing heavily on his conscience. He has a concise list of more permanent repairs and home improvements he’d like to get arranged to set his mind at ease.
The aim is to help Ken alleviate some of the worries and just focus on living each day with loved ones and making them count. If memories were currency, Ken and Mary would own the bank. They’ve been together for 14 years and have done so much -living- in this relatively short amount of time together: Motorcycle rides, fishing excursions, a trip to the Badlands, Dead and Co Concerts, family visits, welcoming and loving so many grandkids, and oh the scenic views they’ve shared along the way.
I wish there were a way we could give Ken the gift of time. But what we can do is give him the gift of unburdening his worries and lighten some financial stress from his remaining time. Any donation you can make are so greatly appreciated and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
