Help Ken Replace His Laptop Stolen from His Wheelchair

Ken Rogan is a much-loved personal trainer from Newcastle who has devoted his life to helping disabled people build confidence, strength, and independence. Despite living with cerebral palsy and using a powered wheelchair, Ken has built K.R. Fitness C.I.C., a not-for-profit organisation that changes lives every day.

Recently, Ken has been pouring his heart into creating a new online adaptive-fitness tool, designed to help disabled people all over the UK access safe, personalised exercise — even if they can’t leave their homes. It’s his dream project, something he is building not for himself, but for the community he cares about so deeply.

But last week, everything changed.

As Ken was travelling home, someone stole his laptop directly from the back of his powered wheelchair. The laptop and accessories — worth around £1,500 — were far more than technical equipment. They were the centre of everything Ken does.

His laptop is how he coaches disabled clients, creates adapted exercise plans, communicates with those he supports, and continues building the online tool that would help disabled people nationwide.

But it goes even deeper than work.

Ken relies on this laptop to manage his carers, appointments, and daily support needs. It is how he organises his day, coordinates essential assistance, and maintains the independence he fights hard to protect. In many ways, it is his lifeline.

Losing it isn’t just inconvenient — it has left him unable to work, unable to coordinate vital care, and cut off from the systems that help him live safely and independently.

To make matters worse:
  • Police told him they would only be able to telephone him two days after the incident.
  • His insurance company confirmed he is not covered for theft — only accidental damage.
  • This loss comes only months after he was forced to replace a previous laptop due to circumstances outside his control, something that already caused significant disruption and stress.

Ken is someone who continually gives strength, encouragement, and confidence to disabled people who need support the most. He always finds a way to turn adversity into something positive for someone else.

But this time, he can’t recover alone.

We are asking the community — the people who know Ken, the people who value what he does, and anyone who believes disabled people deserve the tools they need to live independently — to help him replace his laptop as soon as possible.

The fundraising target is £1,500, and every donation, no matter the size, will help Ken get back online, back to work, and back to supporting disabled people who rely on him every day.

Thank you for helping Ken through an incredibly difficult moment and for showing the kindness he has shown to so many others.
