As many of you already know, this is Kenny. He's a father, a husband, a brother, an uncle, a best friend, an old friend, and colleague to so many. For anyone that knows him, you know that when he is passionate about something, he can't hide it. He wears his heart on his sleeve and his soul on his face (as Jim Morrison would say), and he keeps everything and everyone that he loves in his mind, always. He loves his family, teaching children, sports, history, country music (and Camila Cabello), and he has a special place in his heart for his dogs. If any of you know him well, you know that he is the nicest man you'll ever meet and that the absolute best (and sometimes worst) thing about his character is that it is difficult for him to say no, because he doesn't ever want to let anyone down.
There have been many times in his life that he had to fight. About 15 years ago, he found out he had a stage 4 rectal tumor. And with treatment, many complications, and the full support of his loved ones, he beat it. Fast forward 15 years and three beautiful granddaughters, and Kenny is faced with another obstacle.
In September 2019, Kenny was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia (AML). This is the beginning of the next fight. He is strong, and he will beat this, too. We can all fight it together, and we have hope. But if, in the back of his mind, he is worried about caring for his dogs, paying the bills, and his family, he can't truly focus on this fight for recovery. As his family, we want Kenny to focus on getting better, and we want to do whatever we can to make his journey just a little bit easier.
We appreciate the love and affection from family and friends, and please know that all your contributions and kind words will forever hold a place in our hearts.
