Help Ken Get Back on the Ice: Support Sled Hockey

Hi, everyone! A lot of you know me, but hopefully my story can be passed on by you to others to help me out. I'm not going to go through the nine year medical nightmare I have been on, but rather just share my current health situation and explain why I am funding this project for myself. I will be 42 come this November I am a bilateral below the knee amputee, a kidney transplant survivor (thanks Aunt Judy), and a late diagnosed Type 1 diabetic. I have come to the conclusion that you only have one life to live and you should enjoy every moment. I played hockey for all of my youth till I was 20 and had to give it up because of the career path I chose. I am not mental disability ( no disrespect those people are wonderful and I have the upmost respect for them) I am a an individual who has a physical disability and refuse to let it slow down my life in away. Needless to say I'm sorry for sitting around on the couch feeling bad for myself. I decided to make a change and get back into the one thing that has always brought my joy and some of the best memories in my life. For those who don't I played hockey for all of my early years of life at the most competitive levels on Massachusetts and now I'm back to playing the sport I love hockey, except it is now in a sled. Same rules and the same rink only we use our arms to skate. I am trying to raise money for two things. I play for the coyotes sled hockey organization https://coyotessledhockey.comthe NHL team has been discontinued I am trying to raise money for the team and myself. I am hoping to raise $250.00 to help cover the cost of ice time, travel, and uniforms. Anything you can donate will be greatly appreciated please and thank you . The second part I am trying to raise money for is a sled for myself.
