Help Kelvin Retire and Continue His Giving

My name is Carolyn and this fundraiser is for Kelvin Lee, Sr. I have known and lived with him in marriage for 38 years. Kelvin is a hard worker and he's on a mission to help others despite his handicap. He gives to the homeless every year by going out, giving out meals (that we prepare) and water in the summertime. He is an amputee and has been since 2013. He has worked for 35 years in the mental health industry, managing group homes, sometimes bringing them to our home when families don't allow them to come home for the holidays.

He was also a first aid CPR instructor for a company here in Knoxville, Tennessee. They let him go in September 2025 (he is still currently a FACPR instructor when trainings become available in NC and TN). He was let go because one of the students did not like the fact that he said, "Make sure you are well-versed in the training." So when you need to help someone in need of CPR, you are fully qualified. That person in the training changed what he said because of her liability in serving her consumer. So she reported to his supervisor saying that he said (which was untrue) that if you had done CPR on one of the consumers, that person would be alive today. The employee did not do CPR on her consumer and yes, the consumer passed away. So they let Mr. Kelvin go instead because he was making sure that all the participants knew CPR and knew it well enough to administer it when it was needed (despite him being a trainer for 35 plus years). Mr. Lee gracefully said, "Thank you for allowing me to serve this company," and left without incident. Smiling, of course, as he always does. He has always been a great man since I met him and a great father and grandfather to our children and grandchildren. Those who know him, know him to be such.

He is very soft-spoken except when having conversations about God, family, food, and sports. He doesn't know that I am setting up this GoFundMe account. He is now trying to Uber every day to help make ends meet. He never complains about anything except when he has Ubered for 6 hours or more; he lets me know his hip is hurting. I would like for him to retire completely while on disability and do what he loves: church, feeding the homeless, cooking, and loving on his family and friends, and not worry about the bills.

Thank you so much
