Update: Thank you to everyone who has donated and shared this story for our friend. Kelvin received inpatient therapy at a rehabilitation center and is now getting outpatient treatment. Kelvin would like to share a his appreciation for you all, this is his message to you:

“I am thankful to everyone for the love and support you have shown me. There was never an opportunity for me to have any negative thoughts or feel hopeless. I was able to stay positive. Even when I felt physically at worst. I was hopeful and I had no doubt I would get better. For wishing me well, visiting and helping keep my spirits up. Please help our dear friend Kelvin Ngigi, who has recently been diagnosed with Guillain-Barré Syndrome (GBS). GBS is an autoimmune response of the body which begins attacking the peripheral nervous system resulting in paralysis of the entire body. Kelvin is currently getting treatment at Harbor UCLA and needs all the help and support he can get. All donations will be used to cover any medical bills and rehabilitation expenses.

Kelvin is a hard working Licensed Vocational Nurse who takes wonderful care of his patients. He is a true friend that will show up for anyone in need. Please keep Kelvin in your prayers to overcome this syndrome and make a full recovery!
