Hi friends, family, and kind supporters,
I never thought I would find myself writing something like this, but here I am—swallowing my pride and reaching out for help.
Back in April, I was laid off from my job. Unfortunately, I wasn’t approved for unemployment, and since then we’ve been relying heavily on our savings and the support of my family here in Portland. I’ve been applying for remote work since April, and later began applying in Boise, knowing it was where we wanted to be long term.
After months of trying, I finally accepted a job offer with Panera—a company I know and am grateful to return to. This decision means it’s time for our family to move to Boise, even though it’s not easy to ask for help in making it happen.
Part of what’s driving this move is the opportunity for our daughters, who are 26 months and 11 months old, to get to know my husband’s family. His mom’s health isn’t the best, and being closer to her while we still have the chance matters deeply to us.
We’re hoping to raise $5,000 to cover the moving truck, gas, deposits, and the basics of getting settled so we can start fresh. Every contribution—big or small—helps us get one step closer to Boise and this new chapter. I’ll also share updates and photos of our move and new place once we’re there, so you can see firsthand the difference your support makes.
Thank you for reading, for caring, and for helping us create stability and hope for our little family’s future.
With gratitude,
Kelsie
