Help Kelsi kick cancer's butt

Donation protected
When our family found out that my sister was diagnosed with Gestational Trophoblastic disease and cervical cancer we all got on a call together. My parents and siblings are spread out across the United States living in Florida, Chicago, Mississippi, and California. We thought if we can't be there in person what are some other ways that we can help Kels through this. We decided that we would tell my sister's story.

Kelsi is 29 and full of passion whether it be for her art, her family and friends, or her animals; ducks and all. She is adventurous and independent, always meeting each challenge with strength and hope. Kelsi has a generous heart and a kindness that she extends beyond her family and friends. She loves to read, and is even writing her own stories. She paints beautiful and interesting works of art. She loves bartending, and growing her own food. She is a amazing sister, daughter, and friend.

In July Kelsi and her boyfriend found out they were pregnant and believed they were going to start a family, it was a surprise, but a good one. Kelsi set an appointment to confirm the good news with her doctor but a week before they appointment she began to bleed, more than normal, and began experience painful cramping. Kelsi kept the appointment with the doctor, who believed she was having a early term miscarriage. Kelsi went to the appointment to confirm the miscarriage but when the ultrasound was done the doctor told Kelsi she had a tumor that was causing her to miscarriage.

Kelsi was confused and upset and wanted another opinion so she did her research and found a new doctor, Dr. Aubrey Merrijane Smith. Her new doctor knew immediately that Kelsi had experienced a molar pregnancy. This means that during conception genetic material was lost due to an abnormal cervix, stage 2 cervical cancer, and a poor immune system. The molar implanted to the area where the cancer was located. This loss of genetic information caused the placental cells to rapidly multiply into a 8-10 oz. tumor.

After surgically removing the molar pregnancy Kelsi was informed that the biopsy revealed she had Gestational Trophoblastic disease, which means it is in her womb and it is trying to spread a similar malignant cancer. Kelsi was informed that chemotherapy is required to destroy the rogue placental cells. These rogue placental cells must be destroyed before they can remove the portion of cervix with stage 2 cervix cancer.  Kelsi's doctor is unsure how many chemotherapy treatments it will take to destroy the Gestational Trophoblastic disease. Kelsi will begin chemotherapy Monday, November 7th.

My family is asking for your help. Any small donation will help support Kelsi receive the medical care she needs during this time.

Thank you in advance for your generous donation for my sister.
