Hi everyone! My name is Kelsey Cain and on August 9, 2021 I was diagnosed with grade 3 Invasive Ductal Carcinoma (aggressive breast cancer). When I received the news I was in complete shock. I am only 30 years old and never imagined I would get cancer at such a young age. While I am hopeful and determined to beat this, I know it is going to be a tough journey. Since my cancer is considered to be more aggressive, I will have to undergo five months of chemotherapy, followed by surgery, and then another six plus months of immunotherapy. I have already done one of the chemo treatments and that was INTENSE. But I know I will be able to make it through the rest.

 

I was not prepared to have cancer at 30 years old. I had so many plans, plans that people my age should be doing instead of this. I am so blessed to have my mom be my caretaker however there is only so much she can do. I am not able to work currently, due to the chemo, so my mom is left to take care of me and help me with necessary expenses. I guess I really am starting this fundraiser to help me pay back my mom for all she has done and will be doing to help me through this long journey ahead. Anything received will be put to good use and will help my mom and I out more than you know!
