Help Kelsey Overcome Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) Again!

My name is Angela Land and a close family friend to this beautiful young lady, Kelsey Cakor. Kelsey was diagnosed and treated for Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) and has been in remission for the past couple of years. Unfortunately, the cancer is back. Kelsey and her family need OUR help.

Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) is a cancer with often many subtypes. This cancer starts in inner and spongy part of bone marrow where blood cells are made. Typically, myeloid stem cells generate different types of white blood cells in our bodies. These different types of white blood cells are important when responding to (but not limited to) viruses, bacteria, and allergens. These blood cells even contain a clean up crew for damaged cells. Unfortunately with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML), the cells our bodies need for responding become cancer cells and spread “quickly” (acute) into the blood and throughout the body.

In short, Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) has hit this young family hard for a second time. This time, treatments will require prolonged local, as well as, out-of-town hospital stays and expenses.
