Help Kelsey Thompson Turn a Community Kitchen Into a 501(c)(3) Nonprofit

Hi, my name is Kelsey Thompson, and I’m asking for your support to help turn something deeply personal into something that can help many.

Like so many others, I’ve experienced hard times in my life. Those moments showed me how important community, compassion, and safe spaces truly are. When I found myself back on my feet, I knew I didn’t just want to move forward—I wanted to give back.

This past Thanksgiving, I started a small community kitchen with one simple goal: to help people who needed it and to give others a place to give back. The response was overwhelming. People didn’t just want a meal—they wanted connection, dignity, and a place where they felt safe and welcomed. And people who were able to help wanted a meaningful way to do so.

That experience made it clear: this is bigger than one event.

I want to create a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization so this kitchen can grow into a permanent, trusted resource—a safe place where:

• Individuals and families in need can receive support without judgment

• Community members can volunteer, donate, and be part of something positive

• We can expand services, reach more people, and help more consistently

Creating a nonprofit comes with real costs—legal filing fees, administrative setup, compliance requirements, and foundational expenses that ensure transparency and accountability. These funds will go directly toward establishing the organization properly so it can grow sustainably and responsibly.
