Help Kelly’s Family Navigate Their Tragic Loss

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Lexi, my mom (Kelly) just passed away on February 29th, 2024. I’m creating this go fund me to help out my family with celebration of life costs and anything extra that we may need.

My grandma is a 73 year old senior, who is now the guardian of my two youngest sisters and is unfortunately finding it hard to get by, without the extra bits of help, from my mom.

She was only 43, would've been 44 in June. She was a mom to 6 kids, 5 daughters, 1 who’s 20 this month, 1 who's 15 in June, 1 who’s 17 in Oct, 1 who’s 24 in July and 1 who’s 22 in Aug. She also has 1 who’s a son to her and he’s 24 in Oct.

Here is my mom’s story.

  • Around the middle of 2019, she was diagnosed with lung cancer. Nov of 2019, there was an operation where they removed her right middle lobe. The surgery was successful and the drs cleared her.

  • Later on, the cancer returned and she was diagnosed with synovial sarcoma.

Synovial sarcoma is a very rare and aggressive cancer that can come from different types of soft tissues, such as muscles and ligaments.

  • In Jan of 2021, they found a brain tumour. Jan 15th, 2021, she had surgery done to remove the tumour. She did chemo and radiation for a while, shortly after but stopped because it started becoming too aggressive on her body.

Throughout her cancer journey, she would continuously have seizures. It was later found out that the cause of the seizures were from the lesions on her brain.

  • Dec of 2021, she was diagnosed with breast and stomach cancer, they also found a 2nd stomach and brain tumour. (All of which are stage 4).

  • Jan-Feb of 2022, she did more chemo and radiation, the tumours shrunk and seemed to stop growing. They then found a leg and shoulder tumour.

  • August of 2022, they found that her stomach tumour came back, along with a second one, she did 5 days of radiation, which was again too aggressive and destroying her body more, so they decided to try a chemo like medicine, that seemed to work at first but all her tumours returned.

  • Jan of 2023, she started chemo again, she did quite a few rounds. It was working at first.

  • March of 2023, they found out that it stopped working. Her body stopped reacting to the chemo and all of the tumours (stomach, leg, shoulder, breast, lungs, brain) returned.

  • Throughout the rest of 2023, She had continuous checkups.

  • January of 2024 she did a few rounds of radiation for a couple of the tumours, they shrunk. Near the end of the month she got really sick.

  • February of 2024, she was stuck in bed for pretty much the entire month. The night of Feb 25th, we got her to go to the hospital, we spent 3 days there and came back home Wednesday (28th) night. Thursday (29th) around noon, she passed away peacefully with most of her family and close friends by her side.

Any leftover money after all of what was mentioned above, will go towards our family and to help with basic necessities, groceries, gas and/or bills.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read my mom’s story and for possibly considering donating to our family.

If you’re unable to donate at this time, spreading the word and sharing, would also help tremendously! Every little bit helps, thank you so much in advance!
