Help Kellyann and Her Sons in Their Time of Need

My name is Kellyann. I suffer from a very rare condition that is genetic and life-threatening. It is systemic and affects my whole body. I fight to breathe, and have a hard time with eating, my intestines, and my joints. It causes astonishing pain and I often have to call paramedics for respiratory episodes. I am struggling with medical debt, housing, and trying to move.

I have left a terribly abusive spouse, and I have 2 autistic toddlers (4 yrs and 2 yrs old) who also have medical and behavioral needs. One of my sons is currently being diagnosed with the same genetic disorder.

I am struggling to make payments toward a $5k medical debt, treatment that is not fully covered by insurance, current rent due, heating costs, and moving expenses.

Some of the treatments I need are not covered by insurance, I have medical bills in collections, and I am having a hard time with all of the fees to find a new apartment. As well as funds for movers and moving. I am an ambulatory wheelchair user and lifting is a risk for me. I need help to move. Right now, I have kept a space heater in my sons' room and have kept the heat very low. Currently, I do not have the cost of rent or the $600 upfront for the heat.

I feel very overwhelmed right now with everything.

I have needed surgeries, emergency room visits, ICU care for severe respiratory episodes, and pain management as well as PTSD treatment because I have been through a lot. Medical treatments are necessary so that I can manage to care for my boys despite intractable pain, episodes of anaphylaxis, and major problems with my joints and organs. My sons have surgeries coming up, and I make frequent trips to hospitals in Worcester and Boston for all of us. I am also looking for help to purchase a wagon or bike trailer for my wheelchair. It will make getting around the large hospital with 2 young ones a lot easier. We have multiple specialists, providers, and numerous appointments. Everything starts adding up. I have needed to fix my wheelchair ($250), one of the treatments I need is not fully covered by insurance, my car failed inspection and needs 2 tires, and I am struggling with past due medical bills, as well as medical bills that went to collections. I am trying to gather enough to move into a more affordable apartment.

I did not know some of the bills went to collections because I had trusted my spouse was paying them. Unfortunately, I was in a financially abusive situation, as well as other abuses. I have left and currently have a restraining order, but I am having a hard time getting back on my feet with two little ones that have special needs, and we have a hard and busy life. I care for my sons and handle their ABA and speech therapy appointments as well as labs and specialists, and these appointments are every day.

I lost my disability benefits when I married as I am a "DAC" recipient. I am only receiving child support at the moment, and I have not had enough time or payments to save up to make payments in full for the rent, heat, or medical bills. The fees to find an apartment are minor but everything is adding up.

I really need help and appreciate any help at all, no matter how small; it all adds up.
