Hi everyone, my name is Tim and I am a friend and co-worker for Kelly Lyons. This is my first Go Fund Me and I wanted to do this for Kelly, as he has fallen on some trying times this past year. In the past year, Kelly has been struggling with many of life's challenges we face day to day, kids, work, bills, etc. He is a single father who loves to spend time with his daughters hanging at home watching movies, going for walks with his daughter, or venturing out into the wilderness finding new camping spots anywhere he can set up a tent whether by himself or with his kids. He also has an unhealthy addiction to his Jeep (as most Jeep owners can probably attest too, lol).
In 2020 one of his daughters required some intensive medical care which Kelly had to pool his financial resources to take care of her, and ensure her health and well being was paramount. As he began emotionally and financially recovering from giving her the best care, along with the additional daily costs that came as a result of that care, he was hit with his own complicated illness.
On Thursday June 24th Kelly called into work sick with a fever and not feeling very well. He thought it was just a small flu and it would pass. We weren't concerned about COVID as he is fully vaccinated. He felt his fever had broken that Friday and he was in the clear.
Then on Sunday June 27th the fever returned, he also had some other severe issues such as dehydration and aches and pains. Kelly went to the hospital. He stayed in the hospital for about 3 days. The ER Doctors felt it was COVID related, despite him testing negative multiple times. With no positive tests, they sent him home to self quarantine for 2 weeks.
Kelly spent the first week sleeping, fighting brain fog, and trying to get his fever down. No doctors have any clue what was going on with him. They just knew it was 100% viral.
On Saturday July 3rd, Kelly went back to the hospital for the same issues now with increasing belly pain.
This is where the doctors found a large abscess on his liver and seemed to be the problem this entire time.
He was rushed into emergency surgery to have the liver drained, and is continuing recovery in the hospital.
Kelly was finally sent home on Friday July 9th to recover there, however, outlook for recovery is good, he currently has bags to continue to drain the liver attached to each side of him, and he will be out of work for about 6 weeks.
Also during this time Kelly will have to go into a Short Term disability situation which will only assist with a portion of his pay after he exhausts all of his remaining vacation and sick time for the year. The Go Fund Me goal is to assist with his health coverage deductible ($7,200) and to help with some of the lost wages he will experience, and Go Fund me fees, taxes, etc. so he can continue to provide for his daughter and keep a roof over his head and isn't totally bankrupted by the health care system.
He doesn't know I'm doing this for him (yet), any little bit helps. Please give what you can.
Myself and I know Kelly will thank you. God Bless.
