Hi, I’m Erica, one of Kelly’s close friends.
If you know Kelly, you know she’s always the strong one—the one who shows up for everyone else, keeps her humor even in the hardest moments, and never asks for help.
But right now, she really needs us.
Kelly is facing a rare and serious brain condition. She’s already been through one surgery and now needs a high-risk brain procedure at Johns Hopkins, which requires extensive testing, out-of-state travel, time off work, and a long recovery.
To make things even harder, she recently found out that as of August 25th, United Healthcare is no longer in-network with Johns Hopkins, which has dramatically increased her out-of-pocket costs.
Originally, she was scheduled to be in Baltimore from September 9–11 for scans, testing, and appointments, then return for surgery on September 26th with an expected month-long stay. But she’s just learned that additional appointments and procedures have been scheduled between those dates, meaning she’ll need to stay in Baltimore longer—adding even more housing, travel, and medical expenses. On top of that, Jerry will have to take extra time off work to be with her during the process.
Kelly has carried so much on her own for so long. Now, it’s our turn to show up for her.
If you’re able to donate, share, or send prayers, it would mean the world to her and her family. Every little bit helps lift some of the weight so she can focus on healing.
Let’s help carry this part with her. ❤️
