Help Kelly Fight Triple-Negative Breast Cancer
Donation protected
Weeks before submitting her application to make steps toward her dream career, my best friend, Kelly Ann Moyer, called me with devastating news. At the young age of 27 she had been diagnosed with triple-negative breast cancer, a very rare and aggressive subtype.
Though this development was life-altering, Kelly is no stranger to adversity. Early in her childhood, her father disappeared from her life. Kelly was raised by her mother who struggled to make ends meet without any formal education for a reasonably-paying job. In the setting of significant socioeconomic hardship, Kelly also played a big part in raising her two younger brothers.

Regardless, Kelly was committed to achieving higher education and graduated from Rutgers University with a bachelor's in Cell Biology & Neuroscience--being one of the first in her immediate family to do so. University is where Kelly and I met, and we have been like family ever since.

After school, Kelly struggled with next steps for her career while juggling interim jobs. With some soul-searching, she decided she would thrive as an occupational therapist, a reflection of her compassion for others. However, that is when her plans were derailed by her cancer diagnosis.

Despite all she has gone through, Kelly is one of the kindest, most open-minded, and funniest people I've ever met. Her hobbies include creating visual art, singing, baking, playing games, and going on hikes. She lives with a supportive boyfriend and two adorable cats who get all of her love.

Kelly means the world to me and everyone else in her life, but the harsh reality is that the countless chemotherapy and radiation sessions, lab draws, imaging, surgery and even the day-to-day struggle of having cancer comes with a huge financial burden. We are all asking you from the bottom of our hearts to help in any way you can to help offset this cost for both Kelly and her family.
Thank you so very much,
