Our story:
Kelly B. Smith was diagnosed with Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia several years ago and doctors have been closely monitoring his blood cell counts ever since. In recent months though, the leukemia has spread to his lymph nodes and doctors are now turning to chemotherapy to combat the cancer. Even with insurance, the tests and the chemo are ridiculously expensive. In lieu of gifts this year, please help my Dad kick cancer! A small donation to help treat his rare Leukemia would mean THE WORLD to the entire Smith family!
My Dad would never make one of these as he is too stubborn usually to ask anyone for anything. He taught me to work hard and do my best, no matter what I’m doing. However, we are both working ourselves into the ground to pay for these expenses and any help at all would go a long way. These medical bills will be devastating for our family. Even with insurance, we all know how broken the healthcare system is. You hate it, I hate it, but it is what it is. If this is the only way to fight cancer and pay for life-saving treatment, then so be it.
When I was a kid, he always loved this war movie called “Kelly’s Heroes,” and today you have that opportunity. Please become one of Kelly’s Heroes as he endures this rough time of treatment! Have $5? $1? ANY amount makes a difference.

I am undergoing chemotherapy treatment over the next several months and am asking for your prayers and generosity to help defray some of the many costs not covered by my insurance.
