Help Kelly and her family rebuild life after a fire

Donation protected
Hi,
Can you help someone in need?

On Saturday 23rd of November, a fire broke out in Kelly’s bedroom while she was downstairs feeding her dogs.
Her 11 year old son was upstairs, and when he smelt smoke and saw it coming from his mums room, he ran down screaming “Mum smoke! Fire!”
Kelly told him to go outside and then ran upstairs to see the devastation unfolding in her room. Panicking, she ran back downstairs and grabbed the kettle full of water. Taking it upstairs, she tried to put out the flames on her bed but by then it was too late, the fire was already out of control.
Kelly is a massive animal lover and has two dogs and two cats.
Both cats had been in her room when she had last seen them and Kelly tried frantically to find them, but the smoke and heat became too much.
Knowing she had no choice but to leave and close the door to slow the fire from spreading, she ran back downstairs to get her dogs out and in to the safety of her car.
A neighbour had seen the fire and called 999. Kelly’s daughter raced around to help.
The fire brigade managed to stop the fire before it took over the house, but they could not find any signs of her cats anywhere.
Kelly was taken to the hospital and is being treated for burns on her hands, arms and legs, which she got while searching for her cats.
When I got there, all she was saying was “The cats were in the room and I couldn’t find them”.
We told her we would stay and search for them. Finally, once things quietened down, we caught the two unhurt, but scared, cats and took them to safety.
Kelly’s bedroom is totally gutted and the rest of the house is badly smoke damaged.
Being so close to christmas, and a single mum, Kelly doesn’t have the funds to be able to replace everything at a drop of a hat. Suffering burns also means its going to be some time before she can do anything herself.
Kelly has always been the first person to offer her help in any situation and will never ask for help. So now I’m hoping, that by sharing her story, we can raise funds to help her rebuild her home so that her, her son and pets can all return and be together again.
