Hi, I'm Kathleen, Kelly Heidel's sister here to ask for help in raising money to help my sister afford her breast cancer treatments.

Kelly was diagnosed with ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS) breast cancer just before her 40th birthday earlier in January 2023. It is a surgical disease and requires lumpectomy or mastectomy with reconstruction followed by 6 weeks of 5 days a week radiation treatments. Furthermore, Kelly will need to be on Tamoxifen for 5 years to ensure it doesn't come back and continue to be monitored for recurrence via ultrasound and mammography.

For several weeks during this time, Kelly will be on medical leave as she recovers from both the surgery and endures the radiation treatments. She doesn't have enough saved sick leave to cover her salary during this time.
