Some people may know, but for those who do not, Kelli was diagnosed this past summer with cervical cancer. This led to multiple trips to Rochester to do more testing and determine her course of treatment. In October, she started with five rounds of chemotherapy and daily external radiation. She then did six rounds of internal radiation, which was very difficult for her. She was uncomfortable, tired, and unable to work due to her aggressive treatments. She had some bleeding complications at the beginning of December, which led to a two night stay in the hospital. Through all of it she has had to go off and on her blood thinners, which she is on because of a mechanical heart valve she received six years ago. This flip flopping of meds resulted in the clot forming in her brain and ultimately leading to the stroke on December 20th. She has been in the hospital since and soon will go to a rehab facility to help regain function of her left side. She is making progress little by little but has a long journey ahead before she could even think of getting back to work. Janet and I are looking at ways to help Kelli financially through this time so she can focus on healing and getting stronger. She doesn't have short term disability so we are looking at other options, but we're hoping to get her some more immediate help with the medical bills she has already accrued from her cancer diagnosis and treatments as these new medical bills start rolling in. Anything anyone can donate is appreciated. Thank you. We have set up a caringbridge to keep everyone updated on Kelli's journey
