Hey everyone. My name is Kelli and I’ve had type 1 diabetes since I was 10 years old. I’m 34 now and have been stuck using insulin shots and sugar checks since I first got sick. While this worked okay for me when I was younger, it’s stopped being effective in the last few years. I’ve had several hospitalizations the past couple of years and my doctor wants me on a pump as this would give me better control over my diabetes. I’m worried that this is a ticking time bomb if I can’t get the equipment I need as I’ve lost a family member already to diabetes.

However, even with insurance, the insulin pump and the glucose monitor needed to operate with come to a little over $1,000. With all my bills and the rising prices of everything, I’ve been struggling to set enough money aside for it without needing it for something else. Any help I could get would make an enormous difference in my health. Thank you.
