Imagine finally completing your classes and becoming a CNA. Imagine finally getting the job you wanted, finally getting that new home. Imagine being the sole provider for you and your 3 children, and then suddenly losing your vision within a week, and then losing the ability to stand and walk.
My sister was just getting into the routine of her new job and life and then the unthinkable happened, she was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. Without notice, this disease progressed very aggressively. Within just one to two weeks, she could barely see, no longer was able to drive, and barley had the strength to stand.
Now comes the loss of a job, the inability to work, 6-hour infusion treatments, physical therapy and sent home with a walker.
Now reality sets in and the real world keeps moving forward. In the meantime, the bills do not stop and neither will life. With this comes no longer having money for groceries to feed your family, money to pay for your rent, no gas money for your kids to get around, or for you to be able to get to doctor appointments and so much more.
How does one go on and survive with no income and no way to work. The doctor does have high hopes that after Kelli completes the steroids, some of the infusion treatments, along with physical therapy, that Kelli can hopefully regain her strength through all this and hopefully return to work. Until then, we are asking for help. Anything you could give would be appreciated while Kelli and her kids try and get through this extremely devastating life-changing time.
