Update
On 1/29/2025 our Mom Kelley passed away peacefully. I am so grateful she was able to spend her last hours surrounded by family who love her.
She was loved by so many, but that is no surprise. She fought a very long battle for years, and these last few weeks were extremely rough. She now has her angel wings, and we know she will be looking over us all.
We will continue to collect donations to go towards her memorial service, as she was no longer able to work due to her health. Details to come soon for service.
thank you for the continued support and prayers during this time.
Hi everyone, my name is Mandy (Amanda) and I am Kelley's daughter. As many may already know, my mother, Kelley, has fallen very ill over the past few weeks. On 1/8/2025, she was admitted to the hospital for what we thought was just back pain. Little did we know, there was so much more going on. They were able to determine that she has several abscesses on her spine and lower back, as well as a bone infection in the spine. This has led to additional difficulties with her heart and lungs.
We almost lost our mom on Sunday, 1/19/2025, when she went into cardiac arrest. After 10 minutes, they were able to successfully resuscitate her. Since then, she has stabilized and is making some improvements. The fluid in her lungs is beginning to clear up, she is becoming more alert, and doing her best to talk. She is scheduled for a TEE as long as she continues to stay stable. This will give more information on what may be going on with her heart.
The doctors advised that recovery would take a very long time. After her release from hospital care she will need an extended time in a nursing/rehab facility. As you can imagine, she is unable to work. She was in the process of returning to work after a short leave of absence after having a partial amputation of her left foot. With her not being able to return to work, and our dad Ray, her husband, being with her each day during her recovery, there is a need for financial assistance as their current disability income does not cover all expenses.
The goal of this GoFundMe campaign is to raise up to $10,000 to help supplement expenses so they can continue to pay for their rent, food, and possible medical supplies or medications that her insurance may not fully cover during the next few months. They should not have to worry about any financials during this time.
If you can donate anything towards this funding, we would greatly appreciate it. My mom is such a strong woman. So funny, smart, caring, and would go to the end of the world for those she loves. She has battled with her health for such a long time and has been in and out of the hospital multiple times over the past year, all because of diabetes. She is not ready to give up, and we will continue to fight for her recovery so she can continue to be here with her family and friends. Even if you cannot donate, please keep her in your thoughts and prayers! Thank you all so much!
